Oxfam Kenya: La Niña Consortium 4W

The Client

Oxfam Kenya is a humanitarian organization that works to alleviate poverty and inequality. Through the La Nina Consortium, they help Northern Kenyans cope with the effects of drought and other crises.

The Challenge

Develop an interactive visualization to showcase consortium organizations’ responses to La Niña related events.

The Outcome

We designed and developed a web application that intuitively showed the activities each partner performed, and where and when they did it. This “4W” visualization—who, what, where, and when—consisted of an interactive map of Kenya, charts displaying the top 10 partners and activities, and an animated scrollable timeline.
